Instructions for adding a new MAC (wireless device) to a Linksys wireless G router.

(These instructions may work for other makes or models of routers.)

First make sure that you are on a computer that’s already connected to the router and it has internet access.

Find your local IP gateway address:
           Click start, All Programs, Accessories and Command Prompt
You’ll see a box that looks something like this:

In the box type the word “ipconfig” (without the quotes).

Hit the “Enter” key.  You’ll get some information.  Find your Default Gateway address.  It will normally be something like 192.168.x.1 (x being a number that could be between 1 and 254).  In the example below it’s 192.168.17.1 (The default is 192.168.1.1).
